STORY UPDATE 20 mins to decide then we can reveal the £120k Stretch Goal content

IMPORTANT - the £120k SG Content is unlocked and will be shared shortly, we just need those that are playing the Story Section to make a quick vote first then all will be revealed.


STORY SECTION

After much debate you choose to throw the staff down into the Darkness. You hear it land with a splosh. Your succeed purely owing to your Mastery and hear the following:

"Marvelous I can taste the Rockhide on this, an excellent supper! In return I give you this."  

A much improved staff with better finish and craftsmanship is vomited from the well!

 

Collecting your upgraded weapon you leave this place and return back to the crossroads and take the final Exit (the dry one) as you continue on your quest. You enter the dark tunnel glad to be out of the water, it is dry underfoot. Really dry in fact there is no moisture at all.

As you turn a bend in the tunnel a solid portcullis blocks the way ahead into a narrow passageway. You can feel a breeze coming from that direction and grateful for the air you rest your back in a careless manner against the Sewer wall.  

CLICK, RATTLE, SLAM Another portcullis crashes down directly behind you blocking any attempt to retreat. You have only one option now to take the exit to your right.

You proceed with extreme caution. Carefully you grip your staff tightly and step forward into the darkness ahead. You negotiate a series of 90 degree turns and the air becomes increasingly more cold.

Finally you enter a room at the end of the tunnel. As your eyes adjust to the darkness you spot a shape huddled in one corner. You can just about make out razor sharp claws at the end of its feet as it turns its bulky body towards you, pushing itself into what looks like a position ready to pounce. You try to ready your staff in a guarded position but are too exhausted. 

You brace yourself for what might be your final encounter… But then it does not leap…your eyes adjust further and you see that it is no vicious goblin or creature of the dark, but a baby Waradger! 

The creature looks scared rather than aggressive, and it was trying to back away from you, not get ready to attack. You hold out your hand to show you are friendly, but the Waradger does not smell you. It continues to stare in fright and you notice that it is not looking at you. It fixes its terrified gaze at something just behind you…”  

WHAT NEXT

Will you?

A Grab the Waradger and flee

B Turn and look behind you with your staff raised

C Cast your Candlecall spell (part of Arcane Theory) to produce Light

£120k funding reached! The Novice Rank Treasure Quest continues

Please note we are aware not everyone will wish to join in with the thematic content. If this is the case for you we totally respect that, please proceed to the part entitled REWARD SECTION - where it is clear what all this means. For those that wish to participate please read the STORY SECTION first.

STORY SECTION

You grab the terrified baby Waradger and run, something looms out of the shadows at you and you quickly duck under its arms as you leave the room in a hurry. Freezing cold air brushes your face from a tentacle like dreadlock appendage but not enough to wound you.

You push onwards, your new companion in your arms, and with nowhere else to run you start heading back towards the exit from where you came. You look back quickly and catch a horrific sight of that mass of tentacles drifting back into the shadows.

Not wishing to confront that hideous sight you get moving quickly, as quick as you can with a baby Waradger in your arms at least! You backtrack down all the 90 degree tunnels and arrive back at the Portcullis trap. 

What now? You look around in horror as there are a lot of shadows around here. With your heart pounding you eventually have to release the struggling animal who runs through the Portcullis to the right towards the cold fresh air. With all hope gone you begin to realise this is the end for you...

REWARD SECTION

The Foe card will be coloured and assembled at the end of the campaign. Here is the completed pencil render for you to enjoy just now.

A new Loot card - Baby Waradger.

The Loot card will be subject to final tweaks, card coding etc. This Loot card is dedicated to Dave Bennet who got behind this Vision of ours really early in the process and helped spread the word.  We believe that somewhere in Mor Nadar there is a Gnimshka called Dave who rears Waradgers and drinks beer in the evening. Dave the Gnismhka is a happy fellow. 

WHAT IS NEXT

OK guys we fully intended to stop at £120k. You can tell - look at what the baby Waradger is hiding behind! Honestly that was it, that was 1000% funded, we have nothing left in the tanks! 

However today we had a flurry of calls and we have been back in touch with the Manufacturer. Our Booster sets are supposed to be 10 cards each.  But we want to end on a massive high. We will increase the Novice Rank Treasure Booster deck by a further two cards and have one final episode if we can raise £127k.

After that we stop.  

We want to end on a high and not a low.  We think we can reach £127k, and you guys deserve the reward and the end of the story if we can reach that figure.

We hope you understand that at some point every Adventure must draw to an end.

 STORY SECTION

Ah sleep, sweet sleep it finally comes to me...  

Your head sinks in exhaustion as you wait for the end to come. Suddenly just as you thought you were done for you hear a click then a rattle. The portcullis lifts, it creaks up into the recess above and the baby Waradger appears in front of you blinking mischievously.  

The Achean Scholars have noted that the intelligence of a Waradger is far beyond that of it's more common cousin the Badger. In this case you probably owe your life to this little creature.  

You step through the portcullis and the adventure continues. You push onwards with fresh hope in your mind. With your new companion by your side you journey down the tunnel until you finally reach a room with a huge drain in the floor.  

Your ears pick up the clink of metal against wood coming from a small alcove nearby. Exhausted from your many fights you step forth to see a large pale creature looming over a small wooden chest. The thing before you has many hands and gnarled fingers. Scrunched up parchment and discarded food litter the floor as it stares at you blearily by candlelight. As you raise your staff, ready to engage hopefully for the last time, the creature notices you and squeals loudly before fleeing into the darkness of the drain.  Too tired to pursue you let it leave, you are sure it will come back with more parchment but for now it seemed best to let it leave.

You walk slowly and carefully over to the chest to find it lying open and empty. The loot has obviously all gone now. There is no more treasure to be found.    

You gather up the empty treasure chest and head for the exit to the caves. Your work here is done, and you live to fight another day.

48 Hour dice rush madness competition

To add to the fun we are having a ‘Guess The Final Pledge Total’ Competition.

The prize will be 2 sets of the wonderful shiny Dragon Dice (8 dice in total).

It will run for 24 hours from the 48 hour mark to the 24 hours mark.

It’s simple have a guess at the Final Pledge Total ... record your guess in £ in the comments section of this update, guesses on the main comment board won’t be recorded ONLY on this update (except where technology won't permit).

To make it easier to record just type your name and your £guess to the nearest £1.

£110k funding reached! The Novice Rank Treasure Quest continues

 STORY SECTION

You plod further down the tunnel towards the light and can see a huge lead pipe above you supported on stone struts. The lime mortar around the stone is very badly damaged and has caused the lead pipe to crash free of the stone strut flooding the tunnel with water. The light you had seen comes from tiny glowing flowers amongst the moss that now grows everywhere around the broken pipe. Someone has been studying this environment and has mislaid a tiny book, you quickly pocket the find.

You wade into the water to try to get past but it is flowing too strongly to proceed. Pausing to catch your breath you spot a side room and make for it to get out of the worst of the sewer flow.

Now that you are not moving you can quite clearly here a strange rasping sound, every 15 seconds or so you hear: 

“RASP, RASP, RASP….SHHHHHLRP”. 

Curious you progress further into a side room flooded with water and see a small horned creature with an armoured tail sitting atop a fungi covered stalagmite periodically flicking its tongue out to lick mortar from the walls. The Mortlick senses your presence and turns its attention to you!

WHAT NEXT

Will you?

a - fight it with your staff (you have exhausted your weapon talent already)

b - cast the many hands spell at the creature and pummel it from afar

c - Run 

After this choice the party will return to the entrance barrier and take their second choice from the previous update as the new direction.

This Loot card is dedicated to Ryan Byrd who I'm sure sneaks into the IG office at night - he gets everything right with his guesses and has been a superstar on BGG and the Campaign forum helping people understand the Legends Untold vision.
