Latest Updates from Our Project:

Thank you
almost 5 years ago – Sat, Jun 22, 2019 at 01:06:18 AM

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone really.

I've read some stuff on facebook and bgg recently where there is a degree of toxicity on some Kickstarter projects (I'm genuinely not referring to a specific project).

We are always amazed at how supportive you are and how friendly and fun the Legends Untold campaign pages remain. This is what makes us love doing this, knowing that we have a supportive and fun community of backers to create content for. Being able to build a game and a world together with you is something to be cherished.

Thank you!

Ahem (clears throat), we'll crack back on with remediation and expansion work now.

Cheers

Fulfilment Update, ASID and Reprint, Dragon Dice and Potion fun
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 16, 2019 at 01:39:12 AM

Hi guys,

super quick one today.

Fulfilment Update

We sent out another 25 parcels last week, a mix of remediation and pre-orders.

Our remediation list now comprises only a few parcels in Europe that were either not collected or were not delivered. Most of these have Sewers involved, we are waiting on those packages to be returned to us then they will be sent back out again.

If you have any queries in this matter please email us at: [email protected]

ASID and reprint

A lot of you want to know more about ASID and more about a potential reprint.

On the ASID front I am very conscious of spoilers so I am trying to be careful. Also everything is caveated with the 'subject to change' clause.

If you hear us talking about Grotto we are talking about the Booming Grotto. The Grotto booms for a reason (or perhaps many reasons), you will need to investigate why. The Booming Grotto lies north of Dun Mordhain, it is rarely visited as the river is fast in those parts. Traders in Dun Mordhain speak right now of terrible events which are making it far harder to navigate the water.

Similarly the Forsaken Dredge or Dredge is an old abandoned sewer. It runs into the Endless Bog to the north of the City. It was build by the Celti before the Brethren moved into Dun Mordhain and has a simpler and more rudimentary level of construction. It has been pronounced forbidden by the Druidic Council for a long time. It has been replaced by The Great Sewer, represented by the set many of you have which was built largely by the Brethren.

We also want to accompany the ASID box with a resources set. Here we would let those that have had fun trying out the Alchemist from the Novice Boosters experience far more of that world. More herbs to find, to consume, and more potions to brew!

The other side of the resources set is intended to be the Gnimshka Gemcutter, where we will let you try out the art of Petromagikha for the first time. More details on that to follow later but the image of the Gemcutter from the last update gives you a flavour of how the magic of the gems is used.

Reprint

We are now sold out of everything at IG except for the last few Caves and Druid Boosters.

So what about a reprint? Yes this is absolutely something we would like to do but is a big business risk for an embryonic company. We are trying to figure out how much demand there is out there for a reprint before pushing the proverbial button. We have been very successful building a retail network in Europe, the more we can grow this the more likely it is we will do another reprint.

One thing you can do to help us (if you are willing) is to go onto BGG and give us a rating.

I understand that not everybody here uses BGG, however for those that do it really makes a big difference to our retail and reprint prospects. Successful games on BGG are deemed to be those with a low rank overall.

You guys have to date moved our Caves rank from 9,000+ to 4,387.

Our Sewers rank is currently 6,388.

We are hugely grateful to everybody that has helped improve these rankings - thank you!

For those that want to help us the three things you can do for each entry are:

1) Mark the game as Owned

2) Click the Loveheart and become a fan

3) Give us a rating.

Here is what you have helped us achieve to date - thank you!

Dragon Dice

Thank you for all your past responses on Dragon Dice! I think the conclusion we can draw from that is that people are very specific about colours. Doing the 'pick and mix' thing might work but it might also be a fulfilment nightmare. We will be doing something on this front for sure but I can't confirm what it will be yet. Basically we want you all to get the dice you want but we don't want that desire to end up becoming really onerous when there will be so many other elements to the ASID Kickstarter Campaign.

Potion fun

As mentioned above we have plans for all you budding Alchemists out there. You have had a chance to try out the Booster now let's brew something together.

Here is the start of a Potion card for ASID - fancy getting involved to help finish it?

We want one cool idea from you guys for a potion. Please leave them in the comments below or on the main page if necessary. If you particularly like somebody elses then +1's are cool too.

Design 'rules'.

1) This is meant to be fun, please let's retain that awesome spirit we always have here.

2) It needs to be a cool but low powered effect. Avoid bonuses to attributes, come up with something inventive but not too high powered (Lobgourd of ever lightning is a tad too far at this level) for us to consider.

Best wishes you you and your families folks.

Happy brewing!

Cheers

Fulfilfment close out, ASID information and new Dragon Dice
almost 5 years ago – Sun, Jun 09, 2019 at 02:11:31 AM

Hey guys,

Fulfilment Close Out

OK I appreciate not everybody has their game yet and for that I'm sorry. We now have a list of about 20 to remediate, most of these issues are caused by either an incorrect address, the parcel being delivered but not collected (we have had a lot of those), or the courier getting it wrong.

Regardless of how it is happened we want to get you your games and close out the remediation list as soon as possible.

For those where parcels have been returned we have sent them back out again and emailed you. For those where this has not been the case please do get in touch (even if you have done already, it helps us keep our remediation log accurate). I know a number of you have been in contact and we really are working hard to find out what has happened and get your game to you. Another four packages turned up at IG yesterday from various parts of Europe - these will be sent out again and we will let you know they are on their way to you.

For any customer service issues please email us at : [email protected]

It is much easier for us to keep the remediation log up to date that way than manage messages via Kickstarter, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and BGG.

To reiterate, we want you all to get your games, please help us to help you get you them as soon as possible.

We really appreciate you backing our game and want to close out remediation for you ASAP.

ASID

I just wanted to say thanks for all the lovely messages of support. Wow, a lot of you are really keen to know more about ASID!

OK I don't want to cause spoilers and to be clear everything still needs final tested and prototypes. For now I shall try to help with the old open questions game:

What is it?
A Step Into Darkness (ASID) is a multi product campaign we intend to offer which which will greatly increase variety in your existing adventures, offer new adventures, and explain the next step of the Cinematic Campaign.

Who is in it?
ASID is mostly focused on giving you more of Mor Nadar to explore rather than the Heroes itself. This includes more Personas to meet and have a legacy style impact on your own Cinematic Campaign. However we will be introducing a new face or two on the hero side for you to meet, that Saga of the Reluctant Heroes still has a slot or two in yet.

Where will it take place?
ASID comprises two new environments for you to explore which are on the outskirts of Dun Mordhain. The Booming Grotto and the Forsaken Dredge.

When is it set?
The ASID content takes place concurrently with the existing Novice Rank content. The Heroes in the ASID content have not met those from the original Sax township of Sacktun. They are from The Warmlands, a region beyond the mountains, much farther to the south of Dun Mordhain.

How does it work?

The Booming Grotto and Forsaken Dredge will provide new mini Cinematic Campaign elements for you to explore. You can also use the ASID content we are providing to increase the variety within the existing Weeping Caves and Great Sewers sets.

Why are we not launching the Apprentice set stuff?

For us the Novice Rank content is unfinished business. As you will have seen (apologies to the 20!!!) we really could not fit anything else into those boxes, but what we want to do is give you a wider view of Mor Nadar, show you more of what is happening. This content will give you much more to interact with and explore whilst keeping the majority of any new rules in the Apprentice Rank content. The Apprentice Rank content will take time to produce, this is also a good way to give you that content many of you are asking for in a quicker time frame.

Can I have a sneak peek? (Yes that is clearly not an open question!)

Why of course! You guys are the backers, you made it happen. It is absolutely right you get to see the teaser posters before anyone else:

I hope that helps! I am happy to answer any questions but will do so in a manner that avoids spoilers.

Dragon Dice

So we totally underestimated how many of you like Dragon Dice. In fact we pretty much sold out the moment they went on sale, as did our distribution partners. A lot of you have been back in touch asking to buy the dice. I can confirm we still have limited stock left in the US, Asia and Australia, sadly we are sold out in Europe, sorry guys.

To celebrate the launch of the Gnimshka Gemcutter in the ASID Campaign we are considering launching a set of Gnimshka Gemcutter Dragon Dice.

It would probably be either

Option 1: 8 dice of a different colour, 1x each of: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Black and Clear

Option 2: 4 sets of 4 different colours, with the most popular ones to be voted for by you guys.

Here is the concept showing most but not all of the colours.

If you are interested in these please let us know in the comments and confirm Option 1 or Option 2 (or both) to help us decide which route to take and make these dice available to you.

Best wishes to you and all your families!

Cheers

Fulfilment close out update, remediaiton, thanks and a teaser
almost 5 years ago – Sun, May 19, 2019 at 12:47:43 AM

Hey guys,

Fulfilment coming to a close

It has taken me a bit longer to get to this update than I had hoped, we've been spinning lots of plates for the past few weeks.

I am pleased to say that as of today the last pallet has been uploaded and 110 games are currently being sent out to addresses in Europe, Israel, Turkey and Nepal. If you have not received your game from us yet and have not received a notification from a courier you will receive an email from us by tomorrow giving you a fully trackable parcel solution from our Logistics partner Landmark Global.

Remediation

This leaves one remaining pot of Kickstarter backers to address - remediation, specifically those packages where there has been an issue such as it not showing up, going to the wrong address, arriving with pieces missing etc.

The only way we can deal with remediation properly is to keep a central log and have an accurate view on what is happening with each and every case. I am pleased to say that practically all of the UK remediation has been completed and we have about a dozen cases across Europe that we are sorting out. If you are having problems or have concerns please contact us at:

[email protected]

It is far easier for us to respond to you quickly if you contact us here rather than using the Kickstarter messaging system.

Thanks!

In the meantime I wanted to thank everybody for their amazing support and patience. We now have thriving communities here, on BGG, and in the Legends Untold Facebook group where you are all helping each other and sharing ideas. That is fantastic, it's absolutely what we want, everyone sharing their experiences in Mor Nadar and building a world together.

A lot of you want to know more about ASID. We're not quite there yet folks, we need to get these last few games out and then ask YOU for some feedback.  In the meantime though, how about this for a wee teaser?

Best wishes to you and your families folks.

Keep telling those legends!

Cheers

Fulfilment Update, Stock availability, Future plans
almost 5 years ago – Sun, May 05, 2019 at 09:15:44 PM

Hi guys,

by now a great many of you have received your games and have been telling us about the legends you are beginning to write. This is fantastic, but we know there are a few remaining who still need to get their rewards. With that in mind I want to make this a quick update and focus on the rearguard of the party.

Production Error

We became aware early in the process that a small number of the Caves sets have a production error in them that impacts on the double poker cards. You will be able to tell straight away as your copy of the Caves will have multiple versions of the Dark Lake in it, which is not correct. We arranged with Whatz to print a number of remediation packs for these sets which can be sent directly to you if you are impacted. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing if you are impacted until you open the Caves box. Whatz tell me that there are a maximum of 90 of the boxes printed which have this unlucky 'golden ticket' status. Whatz have already sent out the first drop of these packs. The second drop is going next week.

If you are impacted and need a remediation pack please contact me at:

[email protected]

Fulfilment Update

By now almost everyone who backed the game should have received it. We have been shipping the UK/European/Row ones out by SKU and country over the past weeks. The remaining countries/ Bailiwicks we are shipping to are:

Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Greece, Guernsey, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Israel, Cyprus, Nepal.

If you live in one of the named countries/ Bailiwicks above and have not received your game please do not panic they are scheduled for collection next week and will be with you as quickly as possible.

Stock availability

We are still completing the fulfilment process but the pre-order button has been ringing away like crazy. I wanted to let you, the backers, know where we are so you get first refusal on anything you want to add. For orders in the UK/Europe I can confirm the following:

Dragon Dice - we are totally sold out now.

Sewers Sets - we have very limited stocks remaining

Booster Sets - our stock is limited.

If you are interested in any of these items (in particular I'm thinking of those with Caves that may want the Sewers), please get in touch ASAP as we are rattling through these items.

Thank you to France

I wanted to give a quick shout out to our backers in France. I genuinely have no idea what happened this week but we have had a surge in orders to France. We've never seen anything like it! Thank you to whomever has made this happen!

Retail

With games now being delivered in their constituent territories I am please to confirm that Legends is available for retail in the UK now.

It will be available for retail in Germany in mid may.

If you want your local store in the States to stock Legends Untold please get in touch with our consolidator The Game Steward at:  [email protected]

Future Plans

Hugh and I are not going to do a project close high five until we know the last of you have received your games. We're not there yet and our key focus is on getting this sorted first. For now I will leave you with an excerpt I wrote on BGG. This was driven by a desire to help newcomers (Terran ones, not 'those' ones) to Legends Untold understand what it is and what we are trying to achieve.  The full article is on BGG and I would like to thank all of you for your support there. The excerpt I think that will be of most interest to you is:

The Vision
The vision of the Legends Project is to build a world together with our supporters for us all to enjoy. We want you all to benefit from a deep and immersive world that has a shared lore so that one person can speak to another about their experiences
For example, two or three years ago this sentence would have meant nothing to anybody but a handful of people:

We just had an adventure where we saved a Waradger from an Aegyptoi Slaver. After crossing the Treacherous Bridge we passed it on to a friendly Gnimshka Gemcutter who rewarded the party with tales of a secret society of Earthsun priests who are rumoured to have found an opening to the Silent Dark.

I would like to think that some of our supporters who are discovering this game would now be able to piece together what that means, and how the vision of the project is closely associated with both playing the game, but also immersing yourself in the experience. If Legends untold clicks for you it should feel like it makes you write your own stories, you should be telling your own legends with the framework assets that we have designed for you. (Note you are not missing cards, part of the above is a hint at ASID).

However we also want your input, we want you to tell us about your experiences and tell us about the cool things you have discovered and imagined in Mor Nadar. Some of these things we hope to include in future expansions so that you too can feel that you helped build a world together.

Mor Nadar
Mor Nadar is a place to relax and escape from the real world, if the project plays out in accordance with the vision you should be able to go there and interact with a huge number of things. Perhaps you want to look around the wilderness and forage for rare herbs to brew potions. Or maybe visit the lost wonders of the Brethren Empire far to the south. Possibly you are motivated to find rare books and learn new cultures or to decipher strange runes and understand the forgotten Aetheru language.

If you imagine these things amongst a backdrop of the Banshee filled lands on Na Glinn to the west, or the frozen realms of the Jotnar to the north then you are already well on your way to understanding Mor Nadar.

A key personal passion of mine is to make an atlas and lore book to explain all this, perhaps someday we can make that happen!

For now though our focus is showing you the immediate environments which relate to your path into Dun Mordhain.

Expansions
Legends is designed so that we can expand it for you and give you more of everything to enjoy and experience. The first planned expansion is called:
‘A Step Into Darkness’ (nicknamed ASID).

We will share more of ASID when the current fulfilment campaign is over. We are still finalising exactly what it will comprise as we want to get your feedback first. For now though I can confirm the following:
It will give you a great deal more things to adventure with, more curiosities to discover, new characters to meet, different foes to fight. We will be adding some new content for the adventurers but the focus is primarily on giving you more things to interact with. That said, the Cinematic Campaign does mention new Guardians…

ASID will be fully compatible with Caves and Sewers, indeed it will enhance and enrich your experience using those sets and may also raise a few adventurer eyebrows when you realise there are other environments surrounding Dun Mordhain that the current group of adventurers were not familiar with.
We will explain more of that via a new campaign planned for Kickstarter later this year.

As the project draws to a close The Inspiring Games team would like to thank every single one of you for support and patience. The comments and feedback you have given us over the past few weeks have been amazing. It has been a long quest to reach that treasure chest but the goods within are all the more enjoyable for it.*

We only ever hoped we would get a few hundred of you to join is in the Weeping Caves, we are humbled that so many of you are now writing your own legends and sharing them with us!

I wish you and your families all the best and look forward to hearing more of your amazing stories with the game.

Cheers
